PRO-PIPE SUPPORTS

Shur-Fit Products’ Pro-Pipe Support is a pre-assembled 3-in-1 insulation product that includes:

  • Pre-formed fiberglass pipe insulation with an ASJ SSL (all service jacket with a self-sealing lap)

  • High-density, 25/50 rated CNC cut Polyiso foam insert to prevent the fiberglass insulation from compressing

  • Heavy gauge, galvanized shield with centerline ribs and labeled with size for easy identification

Installing Pro-Pipe Supports during pipe installation will eliminate the need to rework the threaded rod due to insufficient length for insulation thickness. This method will also help ensure proper pipe grading because hangers will not be adjusted by other trades. They offer a fast and easy installation and can accommodate heat traced pipes too.

The high-density foam insert will help with “installed thickness” code compliance because the weight will be evenly distributed and the fiberglass insulation will not get compressed. You won’t need to worry about sliding and falling shields either because the centerline ribs will prevent slipping. The shields also come with rounded edges which reduces the risk of puncturing the vapour barrier.

SUPERIOR SHIELDS

Superior shields are pressed from galvanized metal with centerline ribs to prevent the shield from shifting or falling off in the support hanger.  These shields are perfect for protecting the insulation from being compressed and protecting the ASJ from being ripped.  

Shields are 180 degrees (half the circumference of the pipe) and 12″ long. When used together with high-density insulation to support insulated piping systems, they help protect the integrity of the vapor barriers and allow continuous insulation thickness. 

Manufactured using G90 galvanized steel or T304 Stainless Steel. The shields come with two centering ribs that provide strength and prevent the shield from shifting or falling off. Ends are flared to prevent tearing of the vapour barrier. 3/16″ radius corners prevent vapor barrier damage and provide personnel protection. Oblong and flared slots accommodate plastic zip ties or stainless steel banding, ensuring the permanent security of the shield due to improper loading. Individually labeled with size and outside diameter for quick identification. Packaged in square plastic buckets that allow easy job site transfers.

PVC FiTTINGS

Shur-Fit is a supplier of economical and quality PVC fitting covers for indoor applications.  PVC is affordable, easy to assemble, long lasting, reusable, while offering high corrosion resistance and is a natural barrier to moisture, bacteria, and mold.  We supply the following types:

PVC ELBOW COVERS (one piece):
Short Radius 90°, 45° and hump-back 90°. Long Radius 90°

PVC FITTING COVERS (one piece):
Y-Strainers - Tees - End Caps

PVC GROOVED FITTING COVERS (two piece):
90° Elbows - 45° Elbows - Couplings - Flanges - Tees

PVC fitting covers are available in a wide variety of sizes and colors, and are made specifically to wrap around fittings for a perfect fit.  PVC fittings are a clean, attractive and maintenance free product.


EXTRUDED POLYSTYRENE

XPS pipe insulation is manufactured in various sizes. It is specifically formulated for easy fabrication into such shapes as pipe covering, valve and fitting covers and equipment lagging.

Common fabrication techniques include hot wire cutting, sawing, routing, planing and various CNC machining. The resulting fabricated sections are non-dusting and non-irritating and are easily installed.



GROOVED EPDM FITTING INSULATION

Shur-Fit’s Grooved EPDM Fitting Insulation is a flexible black synthetic rubber insulation.  EPDM has a .03 permeability rating and does not require additional PVC jacketing.  EPDM is PVC free, LEED v4 compliant and is an alternative material to the Living Building Challenge red list of chemicals.    

90°, 45° and tee bodies are manufactured and installed separately from the couplings allowing for any installed piping configuration without the need to order or cut off excess material.

Flexible fitting and coupling pieces are installed snug to the grooved lock fitting and pipe insulation, allowing for quick and easy installations in the tightest of areas. Each piece features a factory applied, high quality, double faced adhesive tape allowing the insulation to easily wrap close. Our patent pending design provides consistent insulation throughout the surface of the fitting.

POLYISOCYANURATE

Polyisocyanurate insulation has enjoyed a long and successful history in low-temperature applications.  For over 40 years it has been used to insulate refrigerated trucks, refrigeration equipment, and piping.

The key to success has been its excellent performance.  It has exceptional moisture resistance so it keeps the insulation value over the long-term and it has a high compressive strength to resist physical damage.  Polyisocyanurate insulation is a preferred insulation for low-temperature systems because it prevents surface condensation and it minimizes heat gain.

Modified polyisocyanurate in the original form of bunstock and fabricated into 4′ x 8′ sheets.  It is also available in a range of densities and compressive strengths for a variety of applications including pipe and vessel insulation, core materials for structural panels, doors and others requiring dimensionally stable insulating composites within the service temperature range of -297°F to +300°F (-183°C to +149°C)

CUSTOM FABRICATION

Shur-Fit also specializes in fabricating custom fittings and display models for a wide variety of industries and applications. Combine our Certified Engineer Technologist with top of the line CNC equipment and we are able to custom design and fabricate 3D models using Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) and Polyiso board stock.

Our fabricated designs include set decorations and props for the movie and film industry.

CNC ROUTING

Shur-Fit is able to transform scaled drawings in various file formats into 3D forms. We can create custom computer-aided manufacturing products out of low-density materials (i.e. foam, wood) for a one-off prototype or mass run manufacturing.

VAPOR BARRIERS

Insulation alone does not provide the protection that cold mechanical pipe systems need to offer maximum value to the system. That is where vapor barriers come into play.

Vapor barriers are designed to prevent water absorption and retard the passage of moisture vapor from the atmosphere to the insulated surface.  They preserve the physical and thermal integrity of the insulation.

Shur-Fit is able to factory-apply the vapor barrier directly onto your Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) or Polyisocyanurate pipes and fittings, and have them shipped directly to the job site. This will lower installation costs, will save days off the installation process and ensure a fast and easy installation. We can also provide the vapor barrier itself.

VALVES AND VESSELS

With a Certified Engineer Technologist employed full-time, Shur-Fit is able to create a custom mould for any sized or shaped valve. We fabricate butt-joint and tongue-and-groove for a fast and easy installation. The valves we insulate include Parker, Danfoss, Hansen and many others. And we are able to do T, Y and angle valves.

Engineered Tank Head Vessels
Shur-Fit Products is able to custom design and fabricate insulation for engineered tank head vessels. The finished product fits precisely to each job’s specifications to create a fast and easy installation.

The tank head vessel is insulated by covering the head with numbered segments of insulation that will fit around for a contoured fit. This replaces the old trial-and-error method of field cutting all the blocks around the head. With Shur-Fit, you save time and money, and never have to worry about product waste.

Each engineered tank head vessel order also comes complete with a visual instruction manual to make the job that much quicker and easier for the insulator. Shur-Fit is able to cover any type of tank head vessel.

All engineered valves and vessels are made from either Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) and conform to ASTM C-450 and C-585.
